  • Notes 
    • Marriage date from WPA and was in Clerk's record book 4 page 79. After her husband's death in the Civil War she moved to Newtown, Fountain County, Indiana; most likely to be with he parents who did likewise.

      Pension file listed that she received $4 per month herself pension and she received $2 per month for each child until age 16 years. They were married by William H Caulkings, M.G. Most likely died near Rainsville as that is where second husband lived at that time.

      On her tombstone is the following verse: "What is home without mother, Her loving smile no longer greets the coming of her feet. The day seems long, the night seems drear and time rolls slowly by, and oh how dark is life around us. What is home without her there."
